Teaching English in Thailand?

Hi,

I am an American thinking of going to Thailand to teach English. I hear it is easy and the pay is good. I have no formal training, but I know the language good enough :)

Any good place to start? 

I am interested in the country and culture so would not mind, really, ending up in a “small town” for a while.
